Now that the NFL Draft is over and done with, it’s time for teams to start molding their rosters for minicamp, OTA’s, and training camp. This is my WAY too early projection for the 2022 Cleveland Browns 53-man roster and depth chart. Yes, Deshaun Watson is most likely going to be suspended for quite a few games but I’m considering how things are right here and now as I write this article. One or both of Jadeveon Clowney and/or Jarvis Landry do appear that they will be re-signed as well, but just like the Watson situation, I’m basing this roster off of Cleveland’s current position.

This is a damn good projection. But because Berry doesn’t cut his draft picks thus far (I expect Deaton to be the first to be waived), even though I agree that Bradley (along with Weston & probably Harley) will be better in camp than Michael Woods II, I still expect Woods to get the 6th WR roster spot, or go on IR.
I realize this was written before the Clowney re-signing, but I anticipate six DEs — as Thomas was drafted & Weatherly has $650k dead money if released.
I don’t think Harvey makes it, as 5 LBs is likely enough for base 4-2-5, with Winovich able to fill in off-ball if needed.
Togiai was also drafted (4th 2021) & as such I expect him to make the team. I predict Sheldon Day will be released on final cutdown day only to rejoin the team later on a VSB, with the purpose being to place someone on IR to be eligible to return during the season, effectively creating an extra roster spot for $25k.
Like you, it appears, I foresee D’Ernest Johnson being traded. KC & LAR are the two contenders with the weakest RB rooms. $1.065m cap hit for acquiring tm.
And I expect Hjalte Froholdt will beat out Michael Dunn for the 10th o-line spot but could still be waived.
Excellent post
